IT innovation to take centre stage at NCS conference

Organisers of the forthcoming National conference of the Nigeria Computer Society, NCS, have disclosed that IT innovation will take centre stage at the event next week.

Speaking at the weekend to further unfold details of event, Chairman, Conferences Committee, NCS, Mr. Jide Awe said that the annual IT conference with the theme, “Information Technology for National Safety and Security” will combine several innovation statements throughout the event.

He said that the conference will also lay emphasis on innovation in national safety and security.

“The theme aligns with the security priority of the Federal Government. NCS salutes the successes recorded by the defence authorities of Nigeria. However, through the conference, NCS is calling for the application of innovative IT tools and strategies for improved effectiveness and performance in all aspects of national security including border security, military, Cybersecurity, policing, among others”, he said.

He said that the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), under the leadership of the Acting Director General, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, has announced that it will host a plenary session during the conference.
